October 15th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in International

It’s all about cash and confidence. How do you persuade banks to lend money more freely again? The US has decided to throw $250 bil into its troubled banking system. Beneficiaries include:

1. Citigroup
2. Wells Fargo
3. JPMorgan Chase
4. Bank of America & Merrill Lynch
5. Goldman Sachs
6. Morgan Stanley
7. State Street
8. Bank of New York Mellon

The US initiative follows announcements in Europe that France, Germany, Spain, Austria and the Netherlands have committed US$1.8 trillion to guarantee bank loans and take stakes in lenders.
